What you’ll accomplish

  • Create your film page from your filmmaker dashboard.
  • Fill in the core details — title, logline, runtime, format, and credits.
  • Upload your poster and stills so your film looks its best everywhere.
  • Complete the questionnaire — it powers festival matching and your Festaiv Score.
  • Preview your public page, then publish.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Start a new film page

From your filmmaker dashboard, add a new film. Give it a title to create the page — everything else can be filled in progressively, so you don't have to have every asset ready on day one.

  2. 2

    Fill in the core details

Add your logline, runtime, format, completion year, and credits. These are the details festivals scan first, so make your logline tight and your credits accurate.

  3. 3

    Upload your poster and stills

Your poster is the single most important image — it represents your film on cards, in emails, and across Festaiv. Upload a high-resolution poster plus a few strong stills. Films with a real poster consistently present better than text-only entries.

  4. 4

    Complete the questionnaire

The questionnaire is where you describe what your film is really about — genre, themes, tone, and availability. This isn't busywork: it feeds festival matching (which festivals see your film as a fit) and contributes to how your film is represented. Fill it out completely and honestly for the best matches.

  5. 5

    Work through each section

Move section by section — genre and themes, availability windows, and contact details. A complete questionnaire beats a rushed one every time, because incomplete answers give the matching engine less to work with.

  6. 6

    Preview your public film page

Before you publish, preview the page exactly as festivals and audiences will see it. Check that your poster, logline, and credits read cleanly.

  7. 7

    Publish and mark submission-ready

When everything looks right, publish. Your film page is now live and ready to submit to festivals. You can keep editing after publishing — publishing isn't a lock.

Tips

  • Use the highest-resolution poster you have — it's reused everywhere your film appears.
  • Completeness matters: the more of the questionnaire you finish, the sharper your festival matches.
  • You can edit your film page after publishing, so don't let a missing asset stop you from getting live.

FAQ

Can I edit my film page after publishing?
Yes. Publishing makes your page live but doesn't lock it — you can update details, swap your poster, and refine questionnaire answers anytime.
Who sees my questionnaire answers?
Your answers power festival matching and how your film is represented on Festaiv. They're there to help the right festivals find your film.
