What you’ll accomplish
- Open the Awards Dashboard from your festival's organizer area.
- Review your award categories and the films in contention.
- Assign a winner — that issues the laurel and notifies the filmmaker.
- Announce results and track what's already been issued.
Step by step
- 1
Open the Awards Dashboard
From your organizer dashboard, open your festival and go to the Awards area. You'll see your award categories alongside the films eligible for each one.
- 2
Review your categories
Each category corresponds to a laurel you designed in Laurel Studio. Confirm your categories are set the way you want before you start assigning — this is what determines which laurel each winner receives.
- 3
Assign a winner
Select the winning film for a category. Assigning a winner does two things at once: it issues that category's laurel to the film, and it notifies the filmmaker that they've won — so make the assignment when you're ready for the filmmaker to know.
- 4
How the filmmaker is notified
The moment you assign, the filmmaker receives an email letting them know their film won, carrying your festival's logo. The earned laurel then shows up on their side to display on their film page and share.
- 5
Announce and publish results
Once your winners are set, publish your results so they're reflected across the festival's public presence. This is the point where awards become official on Festaiv.
- 6
Track what's been issued
The dashboard keeps a running view of which categories have winners and which laurels have gone out, so you always know where you stand mid-ceremony or after the fact.
Tips
- Design your laurels in Laurel Studio first — the Awards Dashboard issues those designs, so they need to exist before you assign winners.
- Assigning a winner notifies the filmmaker immediately. If you're staging a live reveal, assign at the moment you want them to find out.
FAQ
- Can I un-assign a winner?
- Assignments are meant to be deliberate because they notify the filmmaker and issue a laurel. If you need to correct one, do it promptly and communicate with the filmmaker directly.
- When exactly do filmmakers get notified?
- At the moment you assign the winner in the dashboard — the notification and the earned laurel are issued together.
